Las Vegas Wedding?

I have a million questions--just answer what you know best! I've already researched the www.vegas.com website.

I'd like some suggestions from folks who have already wed there... 9 people in wedding party. We'd like some serious ceremony cheese, but probably not Elvis, and we'd like it to be as "upscale" as ~$1000 bucks (just 4 ceremony) will carry us.

What's the deal between getting the ceremony done in a chapel vs at some nice site in or on hotel grounds? Do most hotels have places on-site for ceremonies? Which hotels are the most reasonably priced, but nicest %26amp; with the best amenities?

Is it a good idea to arrange everything (from rooms to the ceremony and reception) directly through one of the main hotels? Or through the Vegas wedding groups? Are some of them better than others at the wedding thing?

Is there a bakery other than Freeds that will do small, reasonably priced wedding cakes? Who has best photographers %26amp; where are best flowers?

Thanks everyone!

Las Vegas Wedding?
I got married at the Imperial Palace in their wedding chapel. I liked that we could get dressed there (small room) and not triapse through the casino and ther chapel and banquet room was on the same floor (I had 50 people) They did the catering for around $2K and that included the cake. Our second choice was the Excalibur - also reasonable.

Now if you want to do a free-standing chapel (like Little Church of the West) and then have a mini-reception, check out the Wedding Room - http://www.theweddingroom.com/
Reply:I'm getting married in September at the Flamingo and everything is included - Ceremonies run anywhere from $400 to $15K - It depends on what you want. Mine is $2000 for what I wanted. My boss got married at Mandaley Bay for $750. Most of the hotels have various places to get married in (the Flamingo has 6). Remember the bigger, more fancy the hotel, the higher the price. Most of the hotels include a photographer in your package and its best to use them as the hotel does weddings all the time and wouldn't use someone not qualified. They also handle flowers. Usually if you want your own photographer and flowers the hotel will charge you $150 extra for outside services. They will also take care of the reception too. Thats why I went with an all inclusive hotel package.

Good Luck!
Reply:I got married at the Little Church of the West as we eloped, as Hawaii was going to be our major celebration a year later on our anniv, as he would be back from Iraq etc.

If you are looking for something different, I would say I heard the Mandalay bay (spelling?) is a really good place to be.

What you need to do is investigate more into them and find out rates, deals and offers for specific time/day you want, plus what they offer due to weather etc.

We stay at the Cancun Resort in their 1 and 2 bedroom suits and they are amazing upscale as well.
Reply:I had a crappy wedding in vegas but the last one I went too was my sister n law. She had her's at the ventian hotel, they have a small chapel in there it holds about 25 people. The resturant is right across from it so your party doesn't have to travel. So just book a room in the vientien and you can have everything in one spot. It was really pretty and classy. I don't know how much though.
Reply:For reasonable at a hotel try the Riveria, Stratosphere, Imperial Palace, Flamingo, San Remo. Off-strip try the Texas Station or the Union Plaza downtown
Reply:There are many professional companies that can help you. Go to http://www.wedding-savings-for-bride-gro... and fill out some simple forms and you will be contacted by 5 vendors in each category with ideas and pricing. There is no charge and you are not obligated to use any of the vendors.
Reply:you asked for suggestions from people that have already wed there. i have not wed there, yet. my wedding is set for september 1. but let me tell you, i have done my research and just last week booked my wedding!

i will just tell you what i ended up going with. i booked my wedding at the riviera hotel and casino. they have a very nice chapel and you get a wedding planner (which comes in handy for me, since i live on the east coast). the reception will be held upstairs in the same hotel in a suite. they bump you up to the suite for two nights when you have your wedding there. the staff serves champagne and they do a cake for you. they will match the cake to your wedding colors and you get to choose either chocolate or vanilla. you also get to choose your flowers, get pictures, and more. the price for this is $1,750. i added finger food to the reception so that raised the cost a tiny bit. i chose to do it this way for many reasons. it is easy for all guests to get upstairs, opposed to a different location for the reception. (keep in mind, none of us are from there). i wanted something somewhat simple. i didn't want to have to serve and pay for an open bar for the simple reason that alcohol is given away at every casino. and this way, people won't be lingering around.

this hotel also offers discounted rates for all of those people who will be at your wedding.

check them out at riviera.com

you don't have to have the reception in your room, it is just something i chose to do.
Reply:hi there - there are over 70 chapels so you have a lot of choice. Most hotels have their own chapels, and there are a lot of independents too - try the website below that lets you search every wedding package in Las Vegas by cost and themed/traditional ceremony. You can have everything from a pirate ship wedding to Star Trek, Wild West, Austin Powers - the list goes on and on. There are articles in the online magazine about venues for small parties too.

Most chapels will insist you use their photography and flowers services, so just choose your chapel and look at what they provide.

In terms of booking rooms, try a site like Expedia which will give you the best range of rates at any given time. As for wedding cakes, if your reception is in a restaurant, you may need to book your cake through that restaurant. Otherwise, try Marie's GOurmet Bakery - they did a great job of our cake.

Have a great time!
Reply:Got married at the Mandaly Bay in 2004. The hotel was great and set us up with flowers, wedding coordinator, limo to go get our license, photographer (photographer was so good my Mom tried to higher him to fly to Boston for my sister's wedding), videographer. The hotel set us up with cheaper rooms because we booked ten of them and we got a private room at Aureole for our reception. The food was great and the cake and desserts were awesome, but pricey. Compared to my friends who did the traditional wedding route ours was hands down 1000 times better.
