My colors are clover green and Mocha.
My flowers are an orangy color and i might throw pink to contrast.
We thought about doing oilve oil cruets as the wedding favor. And at the same time use the cruets as escort cards. I would kinda hang the card w/ their name from the bottle.
somthing like this :

Does this sound ok? what can i change? an ideas ?
I thought about doing the dinner reception italian food to go w/ the olive oil.
What if i just do meat/chicken or fish ? does it still go w/ the favor ?
I also thought italian because i have alot of vegeterian people invited.
Wedding favor and theme ?
I love it!!
Perhaps with your meat and chicken have a pasta side to keep the Italian theme going. Also grapes and Ivy fit the theme well. Maybe empty wine bottle with flowers in them for the centerpieces? Or just nice baskets of fresh mixed breads and some oils on the table for dipping?
On the flowers - maybe just a bit of clover green in the bouquets to help tie it all together? Such as Viburnum, hydrangia, burpleium or Green hypericum berries?
I would love to get a bottle of olive oil as a favor and would make use of it at home - great idea.
Reply:are you chosing your colors because it will be in the fall? i just happened to have a sample of those two colors in front of me and clover green and mocha doesn't go well- perhaps you may want to do green and orange- i've thought of it for my wedding- it'll be pretty. if you still want to use the mocha try using it as an accent piece or using it as a centerpiece like cinamon sticks or something - ?
Reply:That idea sounds lovely IF you have more of an italian theme going. If you're doing a tropical theme, it would be silly and wouldn't fit with your theme. If you do american style food, then I wouldn't do it, but it's your wedding, and you can do whatever you'd like, it just wouldn't fit as well. You are on the right track by thinking of something that guests can comsume--I've seen more brides stuck with boxes of monogrammed shot glasses, wedding day paraphernalia that guests leave behind, and those that take them with them wind up throwing them away when they get home. Keep your favors within the theme of whatever your wedding is, and keep it comsumable. Also keep in mind...you don't HAVE to give your guests favors, as a guest I don't expect it--it's nice, but I don't think less of the bride and groom for not giving me a silly little favor.
Reply:While it's nice to tie the favor in with your theme, I don't think it is required. And personally I don't think of olive oil as a purely italian food, olive oil is great for cooking all different styles of food. You could even combine a meat dish in with the italian food. I'm sure there are lots of italian chicken and fish dishes that would work along side a pasta dish for the vegetarians.
Reply:All sounds good to me and rather nice. Good that you are considering the vegetarians too. Being one myself there is nothing worse than going to a wedding and having to starve because there is nothing there to eat.
Good for you.
I would definitely take the little oil cruet home too! Not like some silly little fake easel or chair, that would end up in the bin for sure!
Reply:Sounds lovely. It's flavorful and healthy. I've seen a really cute olive oil bottle favor. http://thefavorbella.0.kateaspenshops.co...
I would think twice about giving out actual olive oil though, especially if you have guests traveling. Things could get messy if there is a leak or if the bottle breaks accidently.
Don't worry too much about having Italian food to match the favor - olive oil is known as a healthy cooking oil, and a lot of people are cooking with it these days, Italian meal or not.
Reply:green, mocha, orange and maybe pink! YUCK!!!
