We are getting married in a church and will have a private reception to follow there also. Our colors are hot pink, dark pink, Grey, and Navy as an accent. We dont really have a theme in mind because i cant come up with one. The bridesmaids are wearing Grey knee length bubble shirt dresses with hot pink heels. I dont really know what the guys need to wear, i was thinking navy suits but i dont know if thats a good idea or not. I would love for my 2 flower girls to wear hot pink dresses but i havent found any. The only decor we are planning is a variety of pink flowers. My fiancee wants a New York Yankees baseball grooms cake. The wedding cake is going to be ivory three layer with pink ribbon design on it.We are having fingerfoods at the reception and a band. the chairs that we are using are a light blue color and i dont know what to do to change them. I need some ideas on the decor and the suits and anything else you would like to comment about. Thanks for your help!
Wedding decor ideas?
I think the colors are great - not trendy and obviously ones that mean something to you. If your future husband is such a big baseball fan that you're doing a cake around it, are you tying that in anywhere else? I'm a big fan of flower and candle combos for centerpieces and favors, but I may be a little biased. LOL. So I'm a sucker for the classics, whatever!
Reply:As for the chairs, you could rent some fabric chair covers in your choice of color and then accent them with bows of another color (maybe grey covers, with dark pink bows).
For the guys, why don't you do grey suits with hot pink ties? Then they would be coordinated with the bridesmaids.
And if you can't find hot pink dresses for the flower girls, you could always have them in white dresses with hot pink bows on them. And you could make the flower girl baskets, and put hot pink flowers all over the outside.
Good luck and Congrats!
Reply:I like the idea of your colors. I think they sound well put together. Don't worry about what the first answerer said. Do whatever you want it is your day, but I think it sounds lovely. http://www.theknot.com has tons of pics you could browse for ideas.
Reply:You should have hired a wedding planner cause them colors don't sound like wedding colors. Are u trying to create a wedding or a hot mess?
Well, definily don't have the men walking down the isle in hot pink. The men should wear navy and gray suits. When you decorate, use baloons, ribbions, table cloths, and other decortation to tie in the them.
Reply:Here comes a bunch of thumbs down... but oh well.
Hot pink, dark pink, gray, and navy??? I am having a hard time picturing that, but whenever I do, it doesn't bode well. Sorry... I would not use those colors under any circumstances, ever.
BTW, its fiance for men, fiancee for women.
Hey, she said "anything else you would like to comment about." So whatever.
Reply:Put the groomsmen in gray suits with pink ties. Use chair covers in a shade of pink to coordinate.
Here is a hot pink flower girl dress.

You will need to add some accents of white or ivory I think, otherwise you might look like you're holding a Pepto convention in the church. Use subtle pink flowers instead of a variety and incorporate white flowers in the bouquets. Instead of floral centerpieces, maybe have some silvery-gray candles with pink rose petals around them and maybe some photos of you and your fiance.
Reply:Hello!
my congratulations on your soon marriage :):)
have found the following decor ideas

but they are mostly in white but you can replace with the pink flowers easily
hope it will help you arranging reception for the wedding )))
Reply:Hi Whitney and congratulations on your upcoming wedding!
I'm really sorry, but I must agree with Cloves. Personally, I think you have too many colors going on here.
When you say "grey"....do you mean "silver"? I think silver and navy go well together, but I'm not sure about the hot pink and dark pink also. Are you stuck on those? I'm sorry, but I can't picture a grey dress with hot pink heels.....but.....your wedding....your color choices.
If the girls are in "silver" dresses with silver shoes (or black ones) and the guys in navy suits....I think that would look good.
The baseball grooms cake sounds good as does the wedding cake you mentioned!
I would get white table linens and white napkins. Don't worry about the chairs unless you want to rent chair covers to cover them. Then, if you wanted to add to "bold color" to the tables, you could bring in the hot pink and dark pink "colors" with a vase of gerbera daisies in those colors for the centerpieces.

Good luck with your plans!
Reply:Your color choices are very fashion forward...and might not be understood or liked by everyone, but it sounds like you've already got some good ideas on how to spread the colors out so they make sense. I think the groomsmen should wear the dark blue, and then they could wear a pink tie or a pink handkerchief tucked into their jacket pockets. Instead of pink for the flower girls why not try the gray color with a hot pink sash around their wastes or hot pink trim around the bottom of the skirt?
As for the decor...try gray table cloths with a dark blue table runner down the middle and the pink flowers in clear vases on top of them. For the head table, if you're having a head table you could reverse the colors, or just use the dark blue fabric and "drape" it so that it's very prevalent...then use the pink flowers wherever you attach the fabric to the table so that you get that bright pop of color.
You could also dress up the chairs by using dark blue fabric (or very thick ribbon) tied around the chair with a bow at the back...then you could add the pink flowers where the bow is, or in place of the bow so that's what you'll see on the back of each chair.
Also, just a thought, but instead of using gray you could substitute silver in its place in some cases. It will still keep the feel of the Yankees colors there, but dress it up a little bit.
Hope that helps...
Congratulations and Good Luck!
