I've always wanted a wedding dripping with flowers but now that the time actually comes to start planning i'm realizing the cost of things.
What are some centerpieces that are cheap, yet can still be beautiful and classy? Our reception will be at the Church and will be casual with punch and cake only. My colors are baby pink and cream. I'm going to use balloons but what else can I put on the tables? Since the reception site is the same place as our ceremony the guests will be waiting while we get pictures taken. I was thinking of having scattered chocolates and maybe small fruit plates with chocolate dipping sauce. any other suggestions?
What are some good centerpieces?
We did a mirror with a glass bowl of water and one giant rosing floating in it. We also put tealights along the edges of the mirror and then matching rose petals in the tables. It was inexpensive yet beautiful and allowed me to have flowers on each table. It really made a statement.
The mirrors, bowls and tealights were purchased at a dollar store so the only real cost was the flowers.
Reply:If it is an evening wedding a neat idea is putting hurricane candles in the center. Then tape some green foam around them and stick some fake flowers to make it full all around the candle. Put some gems inside with a candle and wha-la beautiful, cheap centerpieces. You could also buy or rent a chocolate fountain to put outside and have bowls of fruit in the center of each table with little plates. People love chocloate fondue! Good Luck:)
Reply:i've read from other answerers that balloons aren't a good idea for table centerpieces, because they get in the way of everyone's view of the room, also because all the pictures will be filled with strings. i think it would be more classy to have small flower arrangements in your colors with flower petals sprinkled around the table. or you can also do the glass bowls with floating candles, those are pretty popular right now.
Reply:You can still do flowers on a budget. Go to your local craft store...I like Michaels....and get the $1 flower stems. Use them to make a cicular wreath in the center of the table and put a candle in the center of the wreath. Its classy and beautiful. You will definately find flowers in your colors. I am a wedding planner and I've done alot of weddings on budgets. If you need anymore suggestions feel free to email me, and I will get you more info.
Reply:get a chocolate fountain and then have flower petals and candles with a small arrangement on each table...maybe have a cheese %26amp; fruit tray by the choc fountain. CONGRATS!!
Reply:That's a good idea. For my reception, we had our families put pictures from their weddings into any frame they wanted, any size picture. We put those with scattered rose petals in the centers. It turned out so cool. Everyone looked at them! And all the different sizes and frames made it really neat looking.
Reply:good for you for going the inexpensive route...for the wedding party table you can use the personal flowers you all will carry and be sure to put them in water. For the guest tables why dont you get a single rose (or flower of your wedding) to use with greens in a vase?
Reply:I think you should use goldfish and put little clear and pink stones at the bottom of the small fish bowls they're cheap and you can get everything you need at a craft store. It will make a classy centerpiece that everyone will love.
