Simple Wedding?

If you look at my past questions on weddings you will see that I have changed my mind a lot about what I want to do. The reason that I am struggling so much with this is because I don't want to spend a lot of money, I want to have a good wedding that is a true reflection of the unity and celebration my groom and I are so looking forward to. Although I am not terribly worried about things I know that everyone who is coming is taking time out of their life to come celebrate with me I would like to make it a memorable occasion for all involved.

I need some opinions about wedding ideas!

I know that 'traditionally' you have a small wedding party if you are having a small reception but that may not be the case here.

Okay opinions on the following please!

-there will be me and my groom plus the flower girl and ring bearer plus six on each side, the girls will be wearing a fall red (november wedding) and the groom and groomsmen will be wearing tuxs with bolo ties and cowboy hats

Simple Wedding?
This is basically what I did for my wedding. I did zero decorations for the church--it was a lovely sanctuary, I didn't see the need to try to add to it.

I did white table cloths with an accent cloth (think big napkin) with a simple bouquet of tulips on it ($20/piece from the florist, I borrowed the vases from him for free).

I did do finger-food (mini-quiches, cheese and crackers, fruit and veggie), but its perfectly acceptable to just do cake.

Everyone had a great time. They talked about how memorable the wedding was and how much they liked what we did.

Weddings aren't about throwing a huge, expensive party. Its about having your closest friends there to celebrate with you.

We had our ceremony at 2 so no one came expecting a full meal.

Good luck!
Reply:Okay so I just got married in March and I had a rather large wedding party (Seven Brides Maids and Groomsmen, two flower girls, two ring bearers, a junior groom and bride and four ushers). I kept my reception small. It was at a local art gallery (the church where we had the ceremony did not have a fellowship hall) and some of the ladies from our church and some of my moms friends fix food. It was small but it worked out fabulous. Of course my wedding was at 2 in the afternoon. If you have your wedding later you'll have to do a sit down meal (mine was buffet style). Having your wedding earlier will cut down on costs, plus you have to think NOT everyone who attends the wedding will attend the reception. I think only about half of my guests did. Good Luck and Best Wishes!!!
