Do I have things under control for my August 4, 2007 wedding?
Mabye (if you wanted) you could contact someone about making a Wedding DVD for you. You know, like a picture slideshow, complete with wedding footage (done by a video camera) and music, etc. You know what I'm talking about? If you wish to have one of those, which I highly recommend for memories, you should contact someone for it. Hope I helped!
Reply:Holy shyt, where were you when I was planning my wedding? If you can list all that stuff off in a short amount of time, I think you are perfectly set for life. lol
Although, I think there Is ONE MISSING ITEM...... Thank you cards for after the wedding. :) Just a heads up. lol
Also. we dont drink either........ we didnt want alcohol served at our reception, but it would be nice even if it was a very small amount, to serve beer for the guests. nothing more, nothing less, we only ordered half a barrel, we dont want anyone to get smashed at our reception, because we do NOT drink at all. But the beer was a must, otherwise yes, theyr'e right, most people wont come, if they drink, to a wedding that they cant drink at,
Reply:damn my wedding is in 9 days and i don't think i am that put together!
Reply:i don't no if this was on there but i have a spear outfit in case my wedding dress gets spoilt at the night do and have u got the wedding pres 4 u dads mums page boys each other
Reply:Sounds like you've got in under control. One thing to think about is to give the photographer, in advance, a list of the shots you want taken. You don't want them to miss something, I know.
Reply:Missing?
Yes, alcohol even if you and your spouse are non-drinkers. At minimum beer and wine.
Otherwise, don't be surprised if many guests don't show up.
Reply:I agree a check list is the best way to go and the knot is a great place to look. Make sure your parents things are in order like your dads tux and mothers dress if you have to worry about those things for both sides.
Reply:The best thing to do is sit down and make a checklist when you have time to really think about everything. Then, go down and see if everything is done to just double check.
Something that REALLY saved me was doing a wedding day schedule. Everyone in the wedding party was given the schedule a few days before so they would know when they were expected to be there. They might also need a map.
I was a VERY organized bride and yet, I was running around like crazy the day before the wedding! I thought I had everything covered but it's always the LITTLE things that don't get done.
Here are a few other checklist items that I didn't see listed above:
1) Make nice signs with your computer that say: "Reserved for the Bride %26amp; Groom" (if you're doing tables for the reception), and "Gift Table" - then you can buy cheapy frames from Target to put the signs in - just typical 8-1/2 x 11 size.
2) You also need gifts for the groomsmen, ring bearer, flower girl, minister (usually a money tip), and most importantly....your groom
3) Have you planned w/ your fiance how things are going to get from the wedding to your new home? You need to think about this beforehand b/c it'll be too chaotic on the day of the wedding. I had my maid-of-honor and my father in charge of taking all the gifts and my bouquet back to our home.
4) Do a wedding schedule - put the phone numbers of all in the wedding party on it. So that way, if someone is missing, then someone else can take care of it.
5) Put someone close to you in charge of making you and your fiance a food package. They should put it in the car you'll be leaving in BEFORE you leave (obviously). Believe me, this will be a LIFE SAVER for you. Usually at the reception, you're so busy greeting people that you don't get a chance to EAT and then you're STARVING by the time you get to your hotel. My caterer did this for me (he even included big pieces of both cakes) and it was a lifesaver!!! My new hubby and I had a little picnic on the king bed. It was GREAT!!
6) Think about out of town guests - have you reserved a block of rooms at a local hotel?
HOpe this helps.
Reply:The best way is to get a checklist from theknot.com. Just to make sure and be safe.
