I need help picking flowers?

We are getting married next February in an evening formal wedding the bridesmaids will be in Black the guys Black tuxes. We want red as an accent color. At the reception we are doing the white christmas lights white table clothes with black satin sash it is a dessert reception so the tables will be small and only a few and then all the tables with desert on them. I want petals on the tables. What petals well since it is Feb probably not roses cause they will be expensive. Also I think it should match whatever flower I use in the bouquets. Any help I can get picking out that flower would be appreciated! I can't seem to find examples on the internet. That would help a lot seeing it in a similar setting! I am set on the color being red. Now the kind is where I can't figure out! Thanks

Ok, so you don't want to do red roses, which is understandable because in February they will be expensive. How about tulips? Red Tulips would be beautiful for your bouquets and also as accent petals on your tables. Hope that helps. Best Wishes to you and your groom.

P.S. For red, I also like red gerbera daisies. Much cheaper, but not sure if the petal thing would work.
Reply:The only and I do mean ONLY flower petals to use are...

ROSES!

the redder the better! Seriously, that's the only "look" that will look good.
Reply:Especially if the lights are dimmed, you could always go with fake petals on the table. No one will be looking close enough to tell the difference, and you can have nice color without spending a lot or worrying about them wilting.

Honestly, many fake flowers look quite natural even in bouquets. There are dollar store crappy looking ones and then there are realistic, nice silk ones from any craft store (Hobby Lobby, Joanns, etc.).

If you are set on real flowers, it is important to look at which ones are in season during February. That will determine the price more than anything. Here is a good website that lists flowers by seasons: http://wncbride.com/wedding_flowers.html...
Reply:im sorry I thought you wantd me to come help pick flowers
Reply:Hi. I strongly urge you to go with RED ROSES (real ones) - not the silk ones. Everything at your reception sounds beautiful and to not carry the elegance through to the tables would not look right.

If you are having only a few tables, then you only need a few centerpieces. I used the following wholesale rose supplier for my son's wedding in 2006. Their prices are unbelievably good, and I can vouch that they arrived right on time without any problems! This site is very easy to look through. They have LOTS of shades of red....not just "red". Look through it.

They also sell just the rose petals if you want. But, I would urge you to go with RED ROSES.

Now, if you don't want a whole bunch or roses on a table, or if you do not want to order off the internet, here is something more simple. I like this look......1 single red rose in a crystal vase with some greens.....you could always put out a few votive candles next to it, or, again, put down a few more rose petals. Whatever you get, if you put it on a mirror tile it looks simply elegant!

Reply:Dont use fake, that is so tacky! You must use red roses, maybe mix with white, try ordering early and maybe get a discount. Do it yourself from a flower shop dont hire a company they will rip you off. you can buy red roses now and tear off the petals and reeze them they will last for the tables and the flower girls.
Reply:You should let little kids to do it or go to to this website.

www.ask.com and I will explain more if you need help. Have a Great Wedding in Febraury and enjoy the fall weather. It won't be long till Febraury.
Reply:THere are also fake rose petals that people use a lot of times for table displays and that could save you money then you could spend more on your bouquet.

Or if you really want fresh flowers - tulip petals could work even if you have different flowers in your bouquet.
Reply:Wal-Mart sells rose petals and I think they are real. Check it out. I bought some for my daughter's wedding and if I recall, they were fairly inexpensive. They were located in the arts and crafts department.
Reply:Roses. And in February, you will find roses really inexpensive. They grow lots for Valentines day... You should be able to get a good deal.
Reply:You have to use red roses. Anything else would look stupid. I can't believe that after all the money you are spending on the wedding that you can't afford a cheap bouquet of red roses to tear apart and sprinkle on the tables. It's not that much of an expense.
Reply:I saw some dried rose petals on ebay, they were red and just looked like rose petals.

If you do go with fresh petals you will probably only need one rose per table because each flower has quite a few petals.
Reply:Pay some little kids to do it. They will do anything for money.
Reply:I think you should go with red roses, and for the tables, you could always buy the fake rose petals.
