Wedding Party Ideas? (Pink & Brown theme wedding)?

My colors for my wedding (8/1/09) are pink and brown. I'm all set with reception ideas, but I need some help with the bridal party attire...

I know the groomsmen will wear chocolate brown tuxes with pink vests, ties. Should my maids wear pink dresses with brown sashes or brown dresses with pink sashes? Should the flower girl still wear white/ivory?

HELP!

Wedding Party Ideas? (Pink %26amp; Brown theme wedding)?
You are the bride so you can have then wear whatever you like! I think for the ladies chocolate brown dresses with pink either on a sash, as a shawl or in some other way would look wonderful. But dont forget to consider other ways to bring in color such as the flowers.

As for your flower girl, she could be in a white dress with a brown sash and drop pink flower petals, it would be adorable.
Reply:Honestly that is up to you. When I got married my colors were a deep apple reddish maroonish color (okay more like a wine color) and silver. My groomsmen wore black tuxes and their tie, vest, and cumberbunds were silver and then my bridesmaids wore dresses of the wine color.

My matron of honor when she got married her colors were pink and black. Her groomsmen wore black tuxes, didn't have any pink because she couldn't get her now husband to go along with that and all the groomsmen said absolutely no way. So they won, but us bridesmaids wore all pink. (I never saw so much pink in my life). So from that perspectice I think the brown sashes with pink dresses is a nice touch. But also pick the color or colors of the dresses based on what might look best of all the bridesmaids, some don't look good in dark colors etc. Another thought you could do is have the same dress but say you have 3 bridesmaids including the maid of honor they could all have the same dress combo and the maid of honor have the brown dress with the pink sash. Typically but not always the maid of honor's dress is slightly different from the others.

On my of my friends when she got married in was in the summer and had 5 bridesmaids and each one wore the same dress but a different color-pale yellow, pale pink, pale blue, pale purple and pale green. It was a really nice touch.

Just to show that it's your wedding and anything is fine.

The flower girl still wears the traditional white but I've seen some that are white and then the sash is a different color, so you could have hers be white and a pink or brown sash.
Reply:I attended a wedding that had your colors. The groomsmen wore chocolate brown tuxes and pink vest. The maids wore brown dresses w/ a ping sash. For the flower girl she could wear: A white/ivory dress with a pink or brown sash. or a brown dress with a pink sash. or even a pink dress w/ a brown sash. You have many options to choose from.
Reply:I love this color scheme for august! i like the brown dresses with pink sashes, as long as the brown dresses match the brown in the groomsmen's tuxes, If the bridesmaids are wearing brown i would put the flower girl in ivory not white, and then maybe a brown sash! hope this helps!
Reply:Instead of adding sashes to bridesmaid dresses, what about having girls in the two different colors - i.e. maid of honor in one color, next girl in line in the other color and then alternate from there?

As for flower girls - I would dress them in white.
Reply:Pink dresses, brown is too dull.

I always think it's nicest when the flower girl wears white.
