Centerpiece ideas?

I've completely run out of creativity with this wedding... I have NO idea what to do for the centerpieces at the reception. Flowers are too expensive.. The wedding is at 6pm in my fi's parent's backyard. How can I do something creative and kind of cheap? My wedding is in 2.5 months.. I'm just kind of burnt out but still have things to do. Please help.. Any ideas would be wonderful. Thanks! Oh, and the colors are sage green and yellow if that helps.

how about large old fashioned lanters with candles in them.

hit up your grocery store and pick up some yellow daisys and other yellow flowers and greenery. a lot of places sell bunches 3 for $10-12. that way you can decorate with real flowers cheaply.

Reply:go to Wal-mart and get their brown pots, paint them white or a light color, and get potting soil and plant flowers in them. If you have a group helping you, you don't need to buy the flowers until a couple fo days before the wedding so they won't die. as long as they make it though the wedding day, that's all that matters! it's pretty cheap, and super easy, but is very pretty and perfect for and outdoor wedding!
Reply:Crafts stores like Michaels, Garden Ridge or Hobby Lobby have lots of ideas and you don't have to spend a fortune.



Since you don't want flowers, I would go with some sort of candle element. You can even trim it with some silk greenery, flowers or flower petals.





It's hard to make suggestions because there are so many ideas out there.



Another thought is to google wedding centerpieces, and browse through the image results. There are a ton. Choose a few that you like then go to the craft store and replicate it! (This is what I usually do!)

Reply:Beta fish in a beautiful vase with sage green and yellow rocks at the bottom. A beautiful ribbon around the top would be a nice touch. My sister did it for her wedding. It cost less than $8 a piece, and she did not have a problem finding guests to take them home.You could also put a floating candle at the top if you wish!
Reply:Simple candles in tall glass holder with ribbons to match your colors. Bowls with floating candles. They would be pretty once it starts getting darker out. What is your theme? Can you get some kind of container with hols (like fall pumpkin with cut outs or cut paper containers or something that amtches) and get the small stands of battery operated xmas lights and put them in to light it up! It will twinkle!
Reply:I found awesome candelabras at a florist that i am renting for $15 .. Most florist have them and are pretty resonable. put some flower petals, or even some small candles all over the table.. it looks beautiful. Or if you'd love flowers if you have a place you can buy them for cheap (horrocks) you can assemble them yourself .. they have books out there. My best bet is google and www.theknot.com has some awesome ideas. good luck

you could do this in your wedding colors and is very cheap! if you have candles outside hard telling how long they will last. you could do this and add scattered rose petals on the table or perhaps acrylic ice on the table.
Reply:Pictures of the bride and groom would be nice. You could put different pictures of yourselves throughout your relationship. You can put them in matching frames or keep them in the frames they're already in. Either way it's a fun centerpiece!
Reply:floating candles in bowls, is a great ideal. or go to dollar bill get some vases and some flowers, tissue paper, or shiny rocks to put in the bottom and ribbon in your colors and there you go....

To stabalize round lanterns use Mason Jar metal rings spray painted .... (You can find rings at Wal-mart)
Reply:if flowers are too expensive, do fake flowers, they are very cheap. for mine, we bought cheap vases and cheap fake flowers and set them on each table. all the guests thought they were real.

or... pick up plants from a local nursery and put them in cute pots and people can take them home with them...

Reply:For my wedding I bought small fish bowls at the dollar store, then went to the craft store and bought these crystal things that you put in water and they get like big jelly crystals, then a floating candle. they have all kinds of colors, and they are very cheap. good luck
