Renewing our vows, how should the ceremony be?

My fiance and I were planning on getting married in August...well, we just found out we are expecting our second child. We've decided to get married prior to that, but to renew our vows in August when the wedding would have been (better for appeasing everyone and not wasting all the money we put down on the flowers, reception, etc). We will be renewing our vows in the church. Do you think we should still have bridesmaids, flower girl, etc? Should we still register for gifts? What is good wording for the invites since everyone thought the wedding was going to be in August?



We basically want to treat it like our wedding, it just isn't going to technically be one because we can't get married in the church if I'm showing! Thanks!

Why can't you get married in the church if you're showing? You won't be the first or the last bride to waddle down the aisle :)



I say either get married quietly now and forgo the church wedding altogether, or proceed as planned and don't worry about the belly! You already have a child together so there is no 'virgin bride' charade to be carried out... everyone KNOWS you've been having sex!



There are lots of maternity wedding dresses out there.. find one you love and go for the gusto :)
Reply:Just have the earlier wedding, and at least give your second child have a change to be legitimate. And just have that be your wedding, considering the circumstances. Save a vow renewal for your 25th anniversary, when it is usually done, though some move that up to the 10th anniversary.

You just should forego the whole traditional wedding route, since you put the cart before the horse with the children. Wish you luck.
Reply:its great but if i was renewing my wedding vows then iwould just have a couple of guests and simple decor yes u can still have bridesmaids but not necessary, anyway best is your best
Reply:It should be what ever you want it to be. don't worry about what other people think, and just do it the way you want it. if you want bridesmaids and a flower girl, have them, if you don't then don't.
