I am 39 he is 47 we are having an informal reception in our back yard. Renting the tent, tables etc. Making it all very pretty. We are having a pig roast along with other things and the wedding cake. I am doing flowers on all the tables along with cameras for everyone to take pictures. Here is my question... I talked to my soon to be sister in law last night and she thought we were just going to do a simple cookout. I can cook out anytime i am only going to marry him once.. Is it silly for us to do it this way? We were both married before and have a 7 month old son.
Getting married September 16th...?
Don't listen to the haters. Congratulations!
You are right to making you day special even if is an informal wedding. You will only marry your husband once and I truly believe that decorating and renting a tent and chairs is NOT going overboard.
You both deserve it and is a WEDDING, whether is the second or whatever, is important for the two of you. Enjoy, be happy and have a beautiful wedding with the man that you love.
Congratulations
Reply:AT 39 YEARS OLD YOU NEED NO ONES ADVICE - DO WHAT YOU WANT
Reply:NO its not silly.after all it is you're wedding and you should do what you want to do.If you want to have a pig roast then I say go for it.its you're day not you're soon to be sister in laws.good luck
Reply:It is not silly. Do what both of you are comfortable with. Since both of you were married before, those ritual and going through the motions are just an experience of a lifetime. As long as both of you are in love and this is the way both of you want to do it, care less about what others want to say. Its the love that you shared that is more importat than ritual
Reply:I agree with native new...
Reply:do what ever makes the both of you happy, you are the one getting married not her
Reply:You do it the way YOUS' WANT!! Me and my soon to be hubby (9-2-06) are having everyone stay at my dads campground and we are renting a chapel and plan to cook out afterwords too. There is nothing wrong with that. Who cares what anyone else thinks as along as you two (3) are happy who cares!! This is both our 2ND Marriage and we have 3 boys, I didn't have a big wedding my first time I'm not into all that. I like small and simple.
Reply:thunder_kok says tell her to butt out or stay the f@#k home
Reply:No, it is not silly. It's your wedding and you two can do whatever you want. Tell your soon-to-be sister that its not a cook out and for her to leave her "famous" potato salad at home.
All that matters is that you too are happy and want to share this day with your family and friends.
Congrats!
Reply:It used to be that a second marriage was done quietly %26amp; without much ado. NOT anymore!
You have lost love and found it again. Don't you think that calls for a celebration? I do! Have the bash you want.
Quite frankly, I don't think it's over-the-top, but quite tasteful.
Pig roast? Tasteful? :) :)
Reply:Sounds great and have fun doing it!!! I wish you both the happiness the world may offer. Congratulations!!
Reply:No way, you wedding sounds a lot like my own. It doesn't matter if you have both been married before. A wedding is an expression of your love for each other. Do it how you want to do it. Piss on everyone else. Good luck!
Reply:I think that what you are planning is a great idea.
Try to make it feel more formal then just a cookout. Make up the fancy invitations on your computer and see how that goes.
Congrats and good luck!!
Reply:Best wishes - and be happy always! I think that this is a great way to do a second wedding - tell your sister-in-law to ... well, it's your wedding, not her's. Good luck and have a wonderful day!
Reply:it is your wedding. so do what u want to. i t doesn't matter if u have been married before, this time should be just as special as the first time.
Reply:Its your life......don't do what others say do what ever makes you happy and Him happy...........Sounds good to me
Reply:its your wedding do what you like. but always remember to have fun doing it
Reply:Go for it! isn't silly at all...a pig roast is kinda like a cook out?
Sounds fun and pretty to me! our culture allows for this type of second wedding....tell sis-n-law not to be an old party pooper...it just a wedding cook out and for her to get with the program...she'll thank you if it rains(god forbid)....
she could be just jealous your happy... Congrats best wishes....September is a good month to be married
Reply:it sounds very nice to me
