Okay, Do I have to have a wedding theme? If I did one kind of invite, does it have to match the rest of the reception? Like if I did a daisy theme for the reception but did children of the inner light for the invites, would that be okay? Now what goes with Calla Lillies? I need so much help, I am becoming SOOOO overwhelmed! My maid of honor doesn't help much, she is expecting a baby and I don't want to bother her. I am getting married in WI in September. I don't know if I should go with fall colors, with fall flowers. I want black and white, but is that too elegant? I need help? Any suggestions beyond all this would be appreciated! Also, should I wait to pick flowers and then go from there? Help me please!!!!!!!!!
Do I have to?
It is your decision if a theme is used but it is not required.
My co-worker's daughter did a black and white wedding and it was elegant. I think thoses colors are beautiful for a fall weddings Congrats and Good Luck.
Reply:No you do not have to have a theme. It is not required. Try not to become overwhelmed because you will not enjoy the planning process. You have a little time so take your time, view books, go into wedding websites for help and talk to soon to be brides for ideas you may have. The below websites are free. It only requires you to register to become a member and gain access to chat boards etc. These boards were very helpful to me during my planning. Good Luck.

Reply:You can do whatever you want, but I think black bridesmaids dresses are not flattering except in winter. Fall in the upper midwest is so beautiful -- do you really not like any fall colors?
You can do calla lilies any season.
You invite should set the tone for your entire day.
Reply:I had calla lillies for my wedding and the florist put orchids, roses, and stephanotis (sp?)all in my bouquet. For my bridesmaids and maid of honor, they all held one simple calla, it was so elegant and these flowers make such a huge statement all by themselves, good choice.
Reply:I JUST WENT TO A BLACK AND WHITE WEDDING IN NOV. IT WAS VERY NICE. THEY ALSO HAD SILK FLOWERS. I DON'T THINK CALLA LILLES LAST VERY LONG BUT YOU COULD ALWAYS CALL THE FLOWERIEST AND ASK THEM FOR SURE.
Reply:You need to hire a wedding planner...someone who is trained and has connections to vendors in the area of WI you're getting married at. That person will be able to help you with design elements and etiquette as well...think about budgeting a portion of the total amount for a planner. You can't hit rewind on your wedding so make it count the first time.
