I don't want to do flowers because we don't have the money so what else can I do for a mid-afternoon reception?
Wedding Centerpieces...Help!?
Oddly enough, I'd probably skip it. No one will probably even notice or for that matter care. Don't do favors either, it's a waste of your time and money. People leave them.
Reply:bowls filled with floating candles. make your own cookie bouquets. Can you place the favors in an arrangement on the table? Large bows surrounded by candles.
Reply:Flowers don't have to be expensive. I just finished a wedding where the bride decided to use small bubble bowls half full of water and floated a large rose on top. They were really nice and fit the outdoor wedding well. I can send you a picture if you email me.
Reply:Get some inexpensive clear bowls ( I found some at the Dollar Store) line the bottom with the colored stones ( again at the dollar store) fill with water and ad floating candles. Can be set on small mirrors or not. I have done this and it makes a very pretty table centerpieces.
Reply:Fruit in vases with water. gather up picture frames and put pics of you and the groom in them.... go to garage sales and rummage sales you can find great stuff there. candles of course. take old neclaces like dress up ones and string them out to make a garland. pebbles and sand... you would have to dress it up but you could do something fun with that and its free!
search your house. no one said that all the center pieces need to match!!
we are using mason jars that my mom just had laying around to decorate with.
Reply:One of the things you can do is use friut in a holder. And make the table cover same color as the fruit. Green apple great cover. Yellow for lemons. Ect.
You cana cheap glass bowl and find a floating candle and add water then light the candle.
you can use a large white table cover and use a smaller color cover on top and then put shining sprikles on top. You can put candy on the middle of the table also.
Hope these help. Good luck.
Reply:Bamboo and out like 4 in a nice vase with rocks the big chunky ones that you buy at walmart and this way when youre guest take them they may continue to grow them. You could buy them by bunches check a local flower boutique. Or you could do fake flowers arrangements they are cheaper or try arrangements of berries however roses are never to expensive and you could do arrangements of roses with baby breaths. For roses see if you could get a deal for buying a bunch.
Reply:I bought tiny gazebos on ebay and decorated them myself. Final cost to me was about $100 for 8 centerpieces.
Reply:Put bubbles with ribbon tied on it that has your names on it. Get a fishbowl and put a mirror under it, float flower candles in it or put something that is the color of your wedding in the bowl.
Reply:I have been going to flea markets and finding candelabras for $1-$3 each trying to stick with similar styles but they will all be different. And then I will spray paint them all the same color. My accent color is black but you can use gold or silver too. I am then using rose petals to cover the tale with the candelabras in the center. A great alternative to the traditional flower center piece.
