What did you pay? I hadn't planned on spending much on these, but the "free" one that came w/ the reception site is an ugly maroon/gold lamp :( . I'm wondering about flower centerpieces or the mirror/candle ones. We're having 10 tables, and $400 is too much to spend. Can I do flowers for less than this?
Wedding Centerpiece cost?
Go to Hobby Lobby and you can get silk centerpieces for very cheap. If you don't have Hobby Lobby, then go to your local craft store and see what arrangements they will do for you.
Also--you may not have to get silks. Look into ordering flowers wholesale online from a place like www.growersbox.com. Prices are very reasonable. You can get some second-hand vases or something inexpensive at a craft store and put your arrangements in those without spending much on the vases. Good luck!
Reply:HOBBY LOBBY.
...Tons of silk flowers and candles there! I always suggest hurricanes to people, they are big and bring out color and can be found for around 10 bux too. Thats what I'm doing and it's so pretty.
Reply:Go to Michaels or Garden Ridge. Don't get your silks at Walmart the quality is not that great. The key to doing silks is to find good quality ones that are not falling apart and do not look plastic. You can probably do your own for $5-$10 each depending on what materials you are buying. I just did a wedding with silks and spent about $60 for the centerpieces and I had 15.
Good luck!
Reply:Oh yes, you can even just go to a craft store and get the long strands of fake flowers or candles. You can do your centerpieces for under $100 definetly!
*Edit - Walmart has them!
Reply:Who says you need a lot of flowers on the tables.? Buy small vases and go to Hobby Lobby or the likes and look for a little green to go in it(very little) and a small silk like flower. It can just be cloth. Spring is on the way and they are putting these flowers out now for Easter so start looking while the selection is good. If you want a larger center piece on the brides table get a Hurricane type glass and a large candle. Select flowers to go around the out side of this and set it up in the center of the brides table.
Reply:You can do real flowers for less than that. Costco sells gorgeous roses for $150 for 125 stems. Two packs of these (300 flowers) will definitely cover 10 tables. Do them all in one color, or mix them up. Buy some cheap glass vases at Ikea or Michaels, and just put the roses in them w/friends and family. It will look gorgeous!
