I love love love pink and brown-mostly because I've seen the most adorable favors for the guests. I was thinking blue and silver but then I changed my mind... I'm stuck on pink and brown... I just can't figure out what color the tuxes should be that the groom and the groomsmen are going to wear... Any suggestions will help, also, I have pics of my dress and my BM dress if you need visuals. Also, if I go with pink and brown, I want cherry blossoms as the flower... the ceremony will be that of the tradtional one, but for the reception, I'm looking to spruce it up a bit, not really into roses that much, so... Please help, thanks in advance!!
I know this has probably been asked a million times, but... I cannot decide what wedding colors to choose...?
ooh pink and brown look good together- but so does blue and silver (i just got married and my colors were red and gold..)
the guys can wear a pink buttoneer if you choose the pink and brown (to tie the colors together..)
i think cheery blossoms would look pretty.. maybe add some lilys or gerbera daisys for more color??
p.s- for decorations you can look around at the dollar store for valentines stuff after it goes on sale (that's what i did last year and it saved me tons of $$...)
Reply:I am getting married next year and I had this similar problem. Pink and Brown are absolutely beautiful! I am using Tiffany Blue and Brown myself with white. Anyway back to the pink and brown, the cherry blossoms are awesome with the whole concept, I've seen them used with those colors in another wedding. The best advice I can give you is go to WalMart and look in this book called BRIDES its the February/March issue turn to page 112. The picture of the grooms' tux, cherry blossom, and tie is on the page. But I would suggest the tux is in white. Its better looking. :) Congratulations! :)
Reply:You can do brown tuxes with very small pink accents - pink carnation, pink jacket hanky. I wouldn't make them wear pink vests! Maybe a tie with faint pink stripes would be ok.
I had royal purple with antique white. I love purple! My husband wore a kilt with a prince charlie jacket with a purple carnation and the tartan had a faint purple background pattern in the plaid colors. Go with the color you love!
Reply:What time of day, and how formal the wedding? If they are wearing tuxedos, they can wear dark chocolate brown - please try to stay as traditional as possible (think of the pictures you see now of weddings in the 70s and 80s with strange colors and hair...). Let the ladies shine with the color - go for soft rose rather than harsh pink. Check your state - if cherry blossom is the state flower, you can't cut them. Also in pink and brown, lilies - rubrum lilies, day lilies.
Reply:ask your fiance if he and his groomsmen would be ok wearing brown tuxes and pink vests. if he says no, then go with the blue/silver combo, although light blue and brown is nice too!
EDIT: if your fiance doesnt mind the pink but they dont want to wear pink a nice way to do that is let them wear all brown then the girls can wear pink, maybe with a brown sash.
Reply:i don't like coloured tuxes, IE: whites, browns, grays, whatever. personally i would keep the groom and his men in basic black tuxes, pink button carnations for their boutonnieres, and perhaps their cummerbunds in a paisley with pinks and browns, or just pinks. there is nothing saying they have to have the exact colours of your girl's gowns. either way the men would look smashing!
i love the idea of cherry blossoms for your flowers! they will be pretty and unique. and i love pink!
you can get beautiful cherry blossoms in silks for your reception decor if you choose. they are less expensive, won't droop and good silks look as good as real flowers.
it sounds lovely sweetie and if this is what you want then stick to your choice and don't let anyone dissuade you!
happy wedding!
Reply:we got married in october so we went for an autumnal theme - brown, orange, cream asnd gold. was gorgeous. just make sure its going to be something you love cos its your day after all. lillies or orchids are a great alternative to roses especailly the calla lily.
Reply:you could get the tuxes in brown ... it would look very nice...
Reply:I love the idea of a pink and brown cherry blossom theme. You won't find many brown tuxes anywhere, and for a formal wedding it would be better if they are black. The groomsmen could wear brown vests with pink boutineers or pocket squares.
Reply:i really like those colors you choose but for my wedding i took my favorite color and his favorite color you see i like pink and he likes green so i downed the colors a little and made mine a baby pink and his like a baby green and it was perfect. but pink and brown is also and amazing color scheme....
Reply:Those colors are so pretty. And pretty easy to work with.
My friend had the guys wear brown tuxes it looked really good. She used cream too. Id go for it!
