The wedding is next April, I originally thought of doing everything in purple but I think that would be too much. I'm thinking light purple tablecloths with dark purple napkins, and different colored flowers on each table. Pink and purple are my favorite colors, I thought this would be a good way of incorporating them together.
I have a very pale skinned bridesmaid with brown hair, a filipino bridesmaid, and a brunette with darker skin...will they all look good in fuschia? I'm light blonde myself (if that makes any difference, I'll be wearing white anyway), and was thinking of having them carry white flowers while I carry a hot pink bouquet.
This is the color I had in mind for the BMs:

What do you think? How did you do your wedding colors? Did you match the decor of the room to the bm dresses?
Thanks for your help!
Bright pink for bridesmaid dresses and purple for the reception hall? Does it go together?
I think your color choices sound beautiful! Don't worry about the room colors - if people are paying attention to the paint on the walls instead of the beautiful bride then something is wrong! Do pink %26amp; purple! I like your idea of you having a colorful bouquet while the bridesmaids carry white - but remember this white flowers might not photograph well - if you carry hot pink, maybe they can carry light pink or light purple.
Reply:Wow, that's a whole lot of color there! How about you use purple as a main color (dark purple tablecloths, light purple napkins, various shades of pink for centerpieces), have the girls wear light purple dresses, and they can carry hot pink bouquets. Your bouquet could be white and hot pink. Or, if you want all hot pink, the girls could carry white and hot pink.
Reply:maybe you should do light purple on the bridesmaids with a darker purple belt around it.then you could go to your florist and talk about mixing the color pink in to your centerpieces that way it still looks classy but you have the colors you want.good luck
Reply:I think the only way you'll know if it looks good on all of them is if you have them try on the dress, if not maybe you could do light purple dresses (or a mixture of both)
Reply:I think pink and purple will look cute together. If it what you like, go for it! It will be a fun, fairy tale, girly, cute look!
Reply:The combo of pink and purple makes me think “Barbie” or “Disney Princesses.”
Reply:I think those colors will totally clash. Why not mix purple and something more neutral.
Reply:it's gonna be bright, but hon if those are the colors you want, you go for it!!!!!!!!
Reply:EW!
Reply:Although I won't be as damning as Ashley D, I think that the purple and hot pink are a bit much. It sounds like all of your bridemaids will look lovely in hot pink, which is quite a feat considering how different they all are. Also, hot pink flowers with your white dress and white flowers with their pink ones will be very striking and fun. Perhaps tone down the purple for the reception and stick with the pink theme throughout? Or, if you really want to keep both colours then choose pale shades of both. Lavender and pale pink will look nicer together than dark purple and hot pink, as well as fit quite nicely into your spring wedding.
Reply:Honestly i think its too loud. you are throwing fushia , hot pink light purple, and dark purple. What are your flowers ? i dont think the dresses are bad.
to me its too much. maybe if you bring down one of the tones. or illiminate the purple tablecloths. maybe if you do white and the napkins the dark purple and maybe your centerpieces can incorporate the colors you'd llike. my opinion. Im getting married in 2-09 but yet to pick my colors. =) still thinking about it since its in feb. and its a winter wedding and etc...
congrats and good luck!
and remember ! ! ! its YOUR wedding.
Reply:i'm not trying to be rude but those colrs together sound like you are having a 4th grade Barbie birthday party. I would scratch the pink all together and just do the different shades of purple you were planning on. If you are doing different shades of purple why don't you do your bridesmaids a favor and let them pick there own dresses in purple. since you are alternating shades of one color if the different bridemaids have different shades as well it will look really nice. I have seen this done with blue and it looked fabulous and so did all the girls because they were actually happy with the dresses!
Reply:UGH, pick another color scheme!
