Hi, I am getting married in less than a month. I was going to use tall vases with flowers and two voltive candles as a center piece. I had this ready for 10 banquet tables. Now the number of our guests actually doubled and that means I have to buy ten more vases and flowers. On the other hand the hotel we are having our reception provides hurricane candle holders, circle mirror to go underneath and two voltive candles as a centerpiece. If I go with the hotel's centerpiece I will not have any cost. I can only buy rose petals and spray them in the table. On the other hand I was thinking of having the long vases with flower on every other table and use the hotel's center pieces on the other tables. Do you thinking mixing will still look good or should I use the same centerpiece in all tables. I really appreciate if you can give me your suggestion which way I should go. I will also appreciate if somebody send me a link to picture of table decoration with hurricane centerpieces.
Wedding table decoration ideas?
I think that it is important that everyone at the table has an unobstructed view of everyone at the table. So if your vases are too tall I wouldn't use them, I would return them to the store and get my money back.
I like the no additional cost for the table setting myself. I would ask the Hotel what the hurricane lamps look like. That would be an important decision making bit of information. I'm sure they could fax you a picture or maybe their Internet sight shows their tables made up.
Different size round little tiny mirrors from the craft store would help reflect the light of the hurricane lamps and maybe some colored glass chips that are the same color as your wedding colors, of course. Disposable cameras are fun at the table. Maybe Costco has a deal on them.
Best wish for much happiness!!!!!
Reply:It would probably depend on the shades in them. It would look nice, but if one set was white and another cream it wouldn't look right. I like your idea of mixing them. It sounds very nice. I don't know what hurricane centerpieces look like.http://www.weddingflowersandmore.com/cen... is a good site to look at them. They would go nicely with a tall vase, of a good shade.
Reply:Alternating tablepieces can be very attractive. I don't see any reason why they should all be the same. This way you can use the stuff you have bought, you get what you want (for at least half the tableS) and you haven't wasted the money you have spent without having to spond more.
Reply:same centrepieces for all wold look better.
weddings are extremely pricey so i would go for the hotel centrepiece.
but because you have already brought the 10 long vases you could always decorate them and give them out as a gift to the guest of honers.

Reply:Think greenery, greenery, greenery! You can never have too much of it! Use swags of greenery with the hurricane lamps tucked in.

Reply:I think you should mix it up a bit! I did something similar at my own wedding and my guests LOVED it. I got so many compliments and since everyone walked around checking out the different decorations it forced otherwise shy people to mingle.
Reply:Go for what's easiest. It's all small stuff.
Best of luck.
eta: I had a big wedding to please my family, and looking back (9 years later) I wish we'd eloped and had a barefoot beach wedding. It's the marriage (the rest of your lives) that deserves your attention. Not so much the wedding (one day)
Reply:I hope you will have the most wonderful and memorable day of your life, and that you and your husband will hold hands throughout your lives together. Compared to this, votives and vases mean very very little.
Reply:Don't waste your money, guests won't remember the centerpieces, nor care what they look like.
Reply:go with the hotel it sounds nice
Reply:You can totally mix up wedding centerpieces. I've seen it done in magazines and I actually did it at my own wedding :P. As long as they're similar in style, the contrast between organic and inorganic centerpieces should be very elegant. I was at a wedding recently where the bride did cherry blossom stalks in huge clear vases and contemporary hurricane candle holders on every other table. It looked gorgeous. One more thing to keep in mind is scale. If the hurricane candle is too small it might look funny, I would get the hotel to send you a photo of the centerpiece on one of the tables so you can make sure it's not dwarfed by the table size. Hope this helps~!
