Picnic wedding?

I am getting married in June 9, 2007.

We are not having alcohol at the reception.

Will be indoors.

I need ideas as to how to put toguether a reception with a picnic ambiance. My colors are lavander blue and white. Menu is fried chicken, potato salad, coleslaw and baked beans. My flowers are going to be calla lilies.

I need tips on how to decorate the hall.

Picnic wedding?
Checkered table cloths, picnic baskets, picnic table for the main cake table, tiki torches, bbq for a prop, big tub or cooler full of ice with cans of soda, plastic silverware and paper plates.
Reply:have no idea
Reply:use lots of plants and lively colors to decorate..
Reply:You've got quite a combination in mind. You have a very casual menu and yet your wedding flowers are not at all casual-type flowers.

But, for the reception. To keep the picnic theme, how about white table clothes with daisies or other wildflowers as centerpieces or even white, lavender and blue balloons. You could have lavender and blue napkins with white plates.
Reply:Picnic baskets, checkered tabled cloths, candles inside picnic basket basket surrounded by some daisies or wildflowers, decorate the hall with some daisies and wilflowers, with some balloons, this is going to be so adorable, take pictures lots of pictures.
Reply:I think it would be really cute to have picnic tables with white simple table cloths and jars with sunflowers in them. Very cute!
Reply:Instead of eating at tables with white cloths, you could spread blankets on the floor for some, and have 'nicer' picnic tables for the guests who can't sit on the floor. You'll want lots of 'green plants' (you can use 'fake' ones that are really inexpensive) and get some 'artificial turf' and some 'bamboo rugs' for the floor (the dance floor should be 'bamboo') and have everyone 'leave their shoes' at the door. If you want even more, you can paint 'murals' (on oversized paper) of the beach, clouds (on the ceiling) and have the 'lights' look like little 'suns' with rays of 'gold or yellow' coming out from them. Your 'table coverings' should be 'checked' in your 'wedding colors' and you should have large bouquets of lavender blue and white flowers behind the 'buffet table' where people can 'pick their picnic lunch' up ... and perhaps if you can afford it, a 'tiny picnic basket' that they can use later as your 'little wedding souvenir' of the 'big day picnic' you're throuwing.
Reply:That is soo cute you should get custome made picnic table cloths in those colors an din the middle of each table have little baskets with one of those colored candles in them and for the hall way take pics of you two and put them into those colored frames and hang them up when you get pics plez send me a few i love weddings
Reply:You can use white table cloths and lavendar and blue plates, napkins, cups and silverwear.

You can do balloon decorations. Balloons are inexpensive and give a festive, picnic in the park type party feel. Tye balloons in your wedding colors to clear fishing wire and shape in arches or hearts along the walls of the hall.
